A well constructed revolving punch. It works fine ... although I have so far used it solely for punching holes in leather belts.
One piece of advice that I got from a tailor who has used these revolving punches since the 1970's ...
To prolong the sharpness of the punch edges, put a small piece of strong cloth (denim works fine) above the striker plate (under the leather to be punched). If you inadvertently apply too much force, the punch would bore through the leather and the impact absorbed by the cloth pad above the striker plate (since you would now be punching through the cloth under the leather belt instead of 'slamming' the punch harshly against the punch's metal base).
Hope this tip is helpful ...

This was a very wise purchase for me because it makes everything so much easier for me now. It's made well and punches right through the leather with ease. I have used it to modify and dress up, almost all of my motorcycle leathers

The brass plate is not centered with the punches, nor do they contact flat with the plate. So for some of the punches it may need to be rotated to make a clean cut all the way through, or you can just pull the piece out (that is what I did for my belts). Other than that the punch worked fine, and as I hoped. I have a few more projects to use it for and I think that it will work fine for the random punching needs.

When I first received this in the mail, I was a little skeptical about the quality of the tool. The picture shown here isn't the same as the one I received, but aesthetics aside, I was feeling a little put off. The packaging seemed a little flimsy, but once I wrestled it free and removed the safety clamp, I began to feel a lot better. First of all, this thing feels SOLID. Nice and heavy, not something that would break in the middle of using it. I originally bought this to punch and extra hole into a watch strap that was too long, and at first I thought the smallest size puncher was too large...not so. It made a hole nearly identical to the ones originally on the strap. It was a tiny bit bigger, but who's going to notice that? Especially if it's a dual-deploy clasp? In any case, I am very pleased with the results.
